We take the privacy of our customer's financial and credit information seriously,
and therefore, have set forth the following principles to affirm our long-standing
commitment to confidentiality.
Consumer Data Protection PRIVACY POLICY
It is the policy of First National Bank in Trinidad, to protect consumer data privacy
by choosing to not share non-public personal information with non-affiliated third
parties except those who perform services for the bank or functions on our behalf
and who are excepted by law, such as processing or servicing providers, credit reporting
agencies and the like, or as may be required by law.
We will maintain all non-public personal customer and former customer information
according to strict security and confidentiality standards. We will limit the use
and collection of information about our customers to what is necessary to administer
our business and provide superior service. Nor will we reveal non-public personal
information to non-affiliated third parties about a customer transaction except
as stated heretofore. Should we do joint marketing with non-affiliated parties,
such business (es) would be required to agree in writing that they will not disclose
or use the information other than to carry out the purposes for which it was disclosed.
We will restrict access to non-public personal information about a customer, to
those employees with a business need to see it. We will educate employees about
their responsibilities when handling confidential customer information, and we will
discipline those employees who violate or fail to report a violation of our Privacy
Policy. We will exchange non-public personal information about our customers only
with those who perform services for the bank or functions on our behalf and who
are excepted by law, such as processing or servicing providers, credit reporting
agencies and the like.
In addition. We will make great effort to ensure the accuracy and completeness of
customer information and will provide procedures for reporting inaccurate information
to us so we can quickly remedy the error, and correct any mistakes before a customer
is adversely affected.
Initial privacy notices will be given at the time a customer relationship is established,
and annual notices mailed to all current customers before July 01, 2001 and annually
thereafter.
We may from time to time obtain information about non-customers to offer them First
National Bank products and services. We will safeguard that information just as
we do information about our existing customers and former customers.
As we continue to develop new products and services in an era of vast technological
change, we will continue to maintain diligent efforts to assuring that customer
information is properly used and appropriately safeguarded. Procedures to assure
the privacy of consumer non-public information are a part of our employee manual,
and included in employee training programs as needed.
