| According to Dee Ann MacBride (formerly McKedy), co-owner of the
Piñon Tree Day Spa, the closest thing to getting pampered growing up in Walsenburg was a bubble bath and peel-off mask.

After graduating, Dee Ann received a degree in communications from Oklahoma Christian University. After ten years in the
television industry, she went a different direction taking a position in newspaper. She is now the number one Regional
Marketing Manager for a Texas company that produces special medical features in 16 cities nationwide. Her sections
appear weekly in The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News.

In 1997 she met her future husband Charles MacBride. Chuck, originally from New York, attended Penn
State and later received his Masters in Architecture from Columbia University. He runs his own architecture studio and
is also a Senior Instructor at CU Denver. In 2002 they welcomed their son Rian. Sound like a busy couple? Well, not for
Dee Ann. Often, she would think about what she could do with one of the buildings her uncle Gordon Kelley owned. One day
it came to her, “a SPA!” Construction proceeded quickly on the 1000-square-foot space. On February 27th the very unique
and modern Piñon Tree Day Spa opened, following a design by Chuck and décor by Dee Ann. She said, “My Aunt, Patty
Kelley, manages the spa and my cousin, Jacque Corsentino, is co-manager. They were my first and best choices.” Chuck and
Dee Ann encourage their employees to do their best work and have fun! Services include: manicures, full sets, pedicures,
facials, massages (6 choices), tanning, and permanent makeup. “Our hair stylist Cathleen is one of the best in the
industry! Aside from being an expert in haircolor, she is also a makeup artist and eyebrow shaping specialist. So, if
you want a beauty makeover (learn the colors that are best for your face and hair) then Cathleen is the person to see.”
The spa offers special packages, including “Get Beautiful” private parties. As business grows the MacBrides intend to
offer more. But for now, you are guaranteed to walk out feeling and looking great! Store Hours are Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Thursday and Sunday.
