Last September, Trinidad native Kurtis Aragon returned after attending the University
of Colorado in Boulder the past four years. Needing to fulfill a one-year internship
in order to receive his degree, Kurtis decided that opening a dance studio would
be the best way to incorporate his dance, and the business-based education he pursued
at CU. Originally, Aragon planned to begin this venture in the Boulder/Denver area,
but then considered his hometown for its thriving artistic community. Kurtis quickly
realized his pursuit of a dance studio needed to go through the heart of the arts
in Trinidad, through his dear friends at the Southern Colorado Repertory Theater,
and with their support the studio quickly became reality.

Now in its 2nd semester, K(INspire) Pre-Professional Dance Studio specializes in teaching technique and choreography
in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance styles. The studio prides itself
in offering qualified dance instruction that teaches students the art of professionalism,
and skills to succeed in life. Having worked with many acclaimed dancers and choreographers,
as well as receiving prestigious recognition, Aragon wanted to give his students
even more opportunities than he had growing up. What began as just an idea for a
year-long internship has developed into a cultural arts/business success, and now
Kurtis plans to continue the studio beyond the one-year commitment.
